MIDWEST HEALTHCARE ENGINEERING TRADE SHOW

Time:   11:30 am. to 3:00 pm. – Lunch and Trade Show (Tech Session)

              Lunch is available from 12:30 to 2:00 pm.

               3:15 pm to 4:15 pm: – Main Program – Concurrent Sessions

Theme:  ASHRAE SESSION – AIR SIDE ENERGY SAVINGS METHODS IN HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

Cost:     $25 per person includes the trade show, lunch and the program.

Meeting Program:

AIR SIDE ENERGY SAVINGS METHODS IN HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

ASHRAE 170 “Ventilation of Healthcare Facilities” Addendum K and ASHRAE 90.1 “Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings” will be reviewed and explained regarding ventilation and energy recovery standards and requirements.  Types of air side heat recovery systems will be described and dedicated outside air systems applications will be explored for a healthcare setting.

Tom Rice

 Tom Rice has built his career from the ground up within SEMCO, holding multiple positions within the company. He has been in technical sales support, regional management, product manager, technical support director and currently as Director of Sales for Desiccant Wheel Products within SEMCO/Flaktwoods.  

Sited and published in many periodicals, Tom is often sought after for his application and product knowledge within the HVAC industry. Tom has been a speaker on energy recovery, dedicated outside air systems, and chilled beams for ASHRAE, USGBC, SAME, LABS21, and many globally produced webinars through Energy Systems Magazine.  He is a full member of ASHRAE and USGBC. He currently sits as Systems chair for Chilled Beams at AHRI, voting member on ASHRAE TC5.5 Air-to-Air Energy Recovery, Corresponding member of TC 5.3 Room Air Distribution (chilled beams), Corresponding member of TC 8.10 Mechanical Dehumidification and Heat Pipes, and Corresponding member of TC 8.12 Desiccant Dehumidification Equipment and Components.

Tom Rice earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from a Columbia College. He then went to complete his Master’s degree from William Woods University in Business Administration. Most recently, Tom received Green Belt Six Sigma from Villanova University.

Today, Tom resides with his wife and three boys in Columbia, MO.  When he is not working, he is spending his energies trying to keep up with the rest of the family.
